Am I too early to raise equity?

If you cannot show what investor money would change, you are too early.

Equity investment expects a clear use of funds, a credible team and a defensible market. Pre-revenue is fine if the plan is fundable. 'I'd hire two engineers' isn't a plan; 'I'd hire two engineers to ship X to land Y' is.
